    Frequently Asked Questions

What should my child wear for class?

For recreational gymnastics, shorts or athletic pants and a t-shirt are just fine.  Leggings and a tank top (no spaghetti straps) are also acceptable however the torso must be covered.  Gymnastics suits are terrific if you have them.  Participants must be bare footed.  Long hair must be tied back out of their face.

Please do not wear jewelry as it may get caught and cause injury.

Please no jeans, overly baggy clothing or sports bras.

Can parents watch?

Parents are encouraged to come and watch.   We ask that you sit at the bleachers and do not stand at the glass so that everyone can see.   Also, please do not block the doorways and traffic areas.

Parents are asked to please return to the viewing area once their child has entered the gym.  It is easier on the kids if you are not standing right there watching.  You are also asked to please refrain from speaking to the coach or your child during the class as is this distracting and can be a safety issue it also takes away from the coaching time.

What is the Anniversary fee?

This is an annual fee that members pay to cover the yearly insurance coverage provided by the NBGA (NB Gymnastics Association).  It also includes a small membership fee to cover administration costs.

What is the refund policy?

A refund request must be submitted within 1 week of the start of a session via email or by written notice submitted to the office via email to office@beausejourgymnoscom or in person during office hours.  If it is submitted prior to the 2nd week of class, a refund will be processed in the amount of the registration session fee minus a $10 Administration Fee.  The refund will be issued to the credit card on your account or by cheque within 7 days of the request.  Cheques will be mailed to the address on your account or arrangements can be made to have it picked up.  Any refund requests submitted after the second class will not be considered and a refund will not be issued.  Please note that the annual Anniversary fee is non-refundable.

Do you make up missed classes?

Beausejour Gymnos always make every effort not to cancel classes.  Unfortunately we are not able to make up classes cancelled due to weather or power outages etc., as there is no room in our schedule to do so.  We are also not able to have a child join another class to make up classes that they may have missed.

Classes cancelled due to coach illness will be made up.  However the makeup class may not be at the regular class time.

Each session has 12 classes although some run more than 12 weeks to allow for holidays and scheduled club events.  The dates of your classes can be found on your invoice.

Are all the coaches qualified?

All of our coaches are bilingual and fully NBGA trained and NCCP certified.  We have a supervisor on the floor during all recreational classes who is also First Aid trained and certified.

Can we still join your classes after the session has started?

We accept new registrations up until the 3rd week of classes.   To ensure safety and class continuity we do not add new participants after this time.

How do I get in touch with my child's coach?

Please do not speak to the coaches during class time as this takes away from the other participants time in the gym.  The best way to speak to your coach is to ask the Supervisor or send an email to rec@beausejourgymnos.com and we can make sure that the coach gets in touch with you.

What is your ratio of children to coaches?

We go with the NBGA recommended ratios of 1 coach per 8 participants for CanGym and parented classes and 1 coach per 6 kids for preschool.

What do I do if I lost something?

We have a lost and found in the front lobby.  All items left behind will be rounded up and put there.   Beausejour is not responsible for lost items we do suggest that you label all your water bottles, clothing and other items to make it easier to find them should your child leave them behind.  At the end of each session we will remind you to please go through the lost and found and then remaining items will be donated to a charity.

Where can I park?

We share our parking lot with the baseball field, the squash club and the curling club down the street.  So parking is on a first come first served basis.  We ask that you please respect the handicap spots and only use them if authorized to do so.  Also please note that you are parking at your own risk, baseballs do come into the parking lot.  There is no parking in front of the building and the entire 3 car width entrance from the fence to the front doors must be left open at all times as this is the first responders route.  We thank you for keeping it clear.

Why are some sessions longer than others?

Each session has 12 classes.  However some run more than 12 weeks to allow for holidays and scheduled club events.  The dates of your classes can be found on your invoice.  We also make every effort to send email and written reminders of these holidays and club events.
